NMSU’s AMP program awarded $2.5 million grant by National Science Foundation
This funding will bolster the ongoing efforts to enhance STEM education for underrepresented minority students across the state of New Mexico.
The New Mexico Alliance for Minority Participation (NM AMP) is a statewide partnership of universities and colleges with a goal to increase the number of underrepresented minority students who successfully complete their B.S. degrees in the STEM disciplines. New Mexico AMP supports targeted students through a broad range of activities, including the Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) program, the STEM PREP program, the Summer Community College Opportunity for Research Experience (SCCORE), the New Mexico AMP Transfer Stipend, an annual Student Research Conference, and the Community College Professional Development Workshop series offered in conjunction with the student conference.
