NM AMP is a statewide partnership of seven 4-year institutions in New Mexcio with the goal of increasing the number of students who complete high quality STEM baccalaureate degrees and preparing undergraduate students to enter the STEM workforce and/or pursue graduate education. The NM AMP student programs focus on providing faculty-mentored undergraduate research experiences and professional development opportunities to the participants. NM AMP supports students through a broad range of activities, including the Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) program, the STEM Pre-Research Exploration Program (STEM PREP) program, the Summer Community College Opportunity for Research Experience (SCCORE), the New Mexico AMP Transfer Stipend, an annual Student Research Conference, and the Community College Professional Development Workshop series offered in conjunction with the student conference.

NM AMP student programs are merit-based and are available to all undergraduate students at the partner institutions who are US citizens or legal permanent residents. The selection of applicants to NM AMP student programs is made solely based on individual merit and does not consider race, ethnicity, or sex in any way.
